PRESBYTERIAN: The Covenanter's Trail

Day 1
Arrive Edinburgh and transfer to your city center hotel. Rest and relax, independent sightseeing. Enjoy dinner at one of Edinburgh’s many trendy new restaurants. Overnight Edinburgh (2 nights).
Day 2

City sightseeing tour to include Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, St. Giles the High Kirk of Scotland, Greyfriar’s Church, and a special visit to the Assembly Rooms of the Church of Scotland.
Day 3
To St. Andrews to see the castle, cathedral and university. Afternoon visit to Glamis Castle, the family home of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother. Overnight Dundee.
Day 4
Depart Dundee and take the Royal Road to Aberdeen passing Balmoral, the Queen’s royal residence and visiting her parish church at Crathie, fairytale Castle Fraser whose second Laird was a staunch Covenanter, and the stunning gardens at Crathes Castle. Overnight Aberdeen.
Day 5
Morning visit to St. Machar Cathedral and “the mither Kirk” of St. Nicholas, before taking the world’s only malt whisky trail to Elgin Cathedral picturesquely known as ‘the Lanthorn of the North’. With an hour or so at the atmospheric battlefield site of Culloden to Inverness.
Day 6
Depart Inverness for some Nessy spotting at Loch Ness on the way to a leisurely tour of the Isle of Skye before turning south to Oban (2 nights).
Day 7
Full day tour of the beautiful Isle of Mull, including a foot ferry trip to the sacred Isle of Iona, a place of pilgrimage since St. Columba came from Ireland in AD 563 to found a monastery and convert Scotland to Christianity.
Day 8
Leave Oban for the pass of Glencoe and a day reliving the epic stories of Braveheart and Rob Roy including a visit to Stirling Castle.

Overnight Dunblane and an evening at Scottish Churches House.
Day 9
Depart Dunblane for a special tour of Glasgow, including the St. Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art. Afternoon and evening at leisure. Overnight Glasgow.
Day 10
Southwards for a unique tour of Whithorn, Candida Casa – the shining white place, and shrine of St. Ninian. Returning through Burns country to Ayr for the final night.
Day 11
Airport transfers or independent extensions.
PRESBYTERIAN: In the Footsteps of St. Ninian and St. Columba

Day 1
Arrive Glasgow International Airport and drive to Irvine (1 night). Rest and relax before driving up the coast to Largs and a hop across onto the Isle of Cumbrae to see the Cathedral of the Isles, the smallest in Europe. Plan an early dinner.
Day 2
Depart Irvine for Culzean Castle, one of the finest Adam houses

in Scotland. Lunch stop at the Tam O’Shanter Experience. With a visit to Robbie Burns’ cottage and a visit to Alloway Auld Kith, to Gatehouse of Fleet (or similar) for the night.
Day 3
Special morning devoted to St. Ninian at Whithorn, the cradle of Scottish Christianity. Northwards then through rural Dumfries and Galloway to Glasgow (1 night).
Day 4
Morning in Glasgow visiting the world famous Burrell Collection and the St. Mungo Museum of Religious Life and Art. Heading up into the Highlands, follow the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond before turning westwards for Oban (2 nights).
Day 5
Early morning ferry to Mull and then on to Fionnphort. Make the short crossing over to Iona to join a pilgrimage around the island and prayers at the Abbey. Return to Craignure for the late ferry back to Oban.
Day 6
Taking the coastal road to Ballachulish and then via Glencoe, Crianlarich into Braveheart Country, visiting the Rob Roy and Trossachs Visitor Centre at Callender to overnight in Dunblane (2 nights).
Day 7

Walking tour of Dunblane to include the beautiful Cathedral. Afternoon at Stirling Castle before returning to Dunblane for a concert in the Cathedral or at Scottish Churches House.
Day 8
To Edinburgh for a full day at leisure in Scotland’s capital city.
Day 9
Airport transfer or independent extensions.

Day 1

Arrive Glasgow International Airport. Transfer to your city center hotel. Rest and relax, independent sightseeing. Afternoon tour of the internationally renowned Burrell Collection or other exhibitions geared to St. Ninian and St. Columba. Plan an early dinner and overnight Glasgow (2 nights).
Day 2
By ferry to the Island of Bute to visit the Chapel of St. Blane, St. Blane’s Church Kingarth and the gardens at a privately owned house. Return to Glasgow to see the St. Mungo’s Museum of Religious Life and Art.
Day 3
Depart Glasgow for Stirling Castle before reaching Scottish Churches House in time for lunch and a special afternoon in and around Dunblane and its fine Cathedral, one of Scotland’s noblest mediaeval churches. Early evening talk about Celtic Saints associated with the area and/or a concert in Dunblane Cathedral. Overnight Dunblane (3 nights).
Day 4
Westwards to the Port of Menteith for the short ferry crossing to the 13th Century Augustinian Inchmahorne Priory. Through the Trossachs and an afternoon in and around Braveheart and Rob Roy Country. Evening of Iona Celtic music and verse.
Day 5
To Scone Palace, crowning place for the early Scottish Kings.

Tour of Perth Cathedral and lunch before heading north through Dunkeld, Aberfeldy pausing at Stuart Crystal in Crieff. Late afternoon stroll around the remarkable 17th Century formal gardens at Drummond Castle, among the finest in Europe. Traditional Scottish Dinner and Ceilidh.
Day 6
Morning at leisure in Dunblane. Midday via Benedictine Dunfermline Abbey founded by Queen Margaret in the 11th century and Linlithgow Palace, home to all the Stuart kings and birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Overnight Edinburgh (2 nights).
Day 7
City sightseeing tour and day at leisure in Edinburgh. Farewell Scotland evening.
